The student of IES Puerta Bonita, Mary Vasilica of Production in Graphic Arts Industries courses 2011-12 and 2012-13, has won the Special Award for Vocational Training of the Community of Madrid from 2012 to 2013 corresponding to the professional group of Graphic Arts. This award is an official recognition of merit based on the effort and the work of students who have completed vocational studies with excellent academic performance and allows their participation in the national phase of the competition.
Between the 25th and 29th of November, takes place in the Swiss town of Saint Gallen, the last of mobility under the Leonardo Project IES Puerta Bonita began last year along with four other members of different nationalities. A full program of activities ranging from digital printing to electronic publishing and packaging design to serve five students of intermediate level training courses digital prepress and printing and four professors from the Department of Graphic Arts, become familiar with the media, teaching strategies and ultimately the educational-professional and cultural environment of our Swiss partner: the Schule für Gestaltung St. Gallen.
Concerts and Events
During the months of November and December 2013 and January and February 2014, students in the second course of the professional family of Image and Sound, within school activities, performed a series of concerts & Shows scenic which are open to the public at the Theatre IES Puerta Bonita. These shows feature bands, orchestras, dancers and actors who collaborate with the center.

On November 18, Thomas Gomez, spokesman for the PSOE together with several regional parliamentarians and councilors of the City of Madrid toured the facilities of the IES Puerta Bonita and had a meeting with professors. In it, Thomas Gomez wanted to know the current situation of vocational training in Comunicad Madrid.
Collaboration with the National Drama Centre (CDN)
There have been various training activities within the framework of the partnership between the National Drama Center and the IES Puerta Bonita. During the months of October and November have been developed various activities involving teachers and students of the IES Puerta Bonita and technical staff of the CDN. These activities have been able to learn about the operations, facilities and production of the plays of the CDN. On the one hand students of Audiovisual Production conducted a technical visit to the Teatro María Guerrero led by Concha Largo, coordinator of cultural and educational activities. The other students and teachers attended the performance of the play "Atlas de Geografía humana" Almudena Grandes in the Hall of La Princesa of the same theater María Guerrero and subsequently established a conversation with José María Labra, Stage Manager, Fernando Delgado, production manager, and Javier Alegría, technical director.
Professional Meeting "Economics, Sustainability and Forests". On October 1, the Head of the Department of Extracurricular and Complementary Activities, Juan José Rodríguez, attended the Professional Meeting "Economics, Sustainability and Forests" organized by PEFC Spain in the Caixa Forum building. They participated in it, the transportation system SEUR, KNAUF, Forética and the City of Madrid. Besides the "New and PEFC Chain of Custody System Due Diligence" Seminar was developed.
Roland Day Event Experience. On October 8 , the center attended the Roland Experience Day event organized by the company Roland at the Palacio de Neptuno and wherein the novelties of the digital printing industry is presented. In the same various presentations related to printing on different types of media, developments in Adobe applications, online business opportunities, sustainability, etc. were also developed.
Forum: Business Printing. On 5 November, the Head of Department of Graphic Arts, Juan Jándula, attended the forum organized by the Technological Institute of Optics, Color and Imaging (AIDO) at the BBVA Innovation Center in Madrid. The forum speakers quote from various companies related to the printing industry where major advances have been addressed in the field of printing technology to identify new business opportunities were given. Issues such as the evolution of printing technologies to varied substrates, personalization, advances in printed electronics or ICT integration in the printed product technologies were reviewed. Several companies presented case studies on the use of these technologies.
International Film School Meeting. The teachers Gemma Teso and Carmen López-Fuensalida participated in the International School of Cinema and the Audiovisual Industry Forum held under the International Film Festival of San Sebastian. Musician and director David Byrne participated in the International Film School, where the work of the major international schools were presented. The industry forums, the teachers attended events such as the joint press conference FAPAE and RTVE or presentation of the study "The Economics of Filming in Spain" by the ICAA and the Spanish Film Commission.
Media Education Congress. This conference took place on the 13 and 14 of November in Barcelona and in it, the teacher center Teso Gemma made a communication center project "Young people seen by young people" at the table "Creativity and social interaction: dynamic and participatory methodologies and partnership".
Students and teachers of 2nd Lighting and Image Processing attended international photography fair Paris Photo 2013 held on 14-17 November at the Grand Palace in Paris. This fair is the most important photographic meeting being held in Europe and can also assist in Paris on the same dates at the fairs as alternative and parallel Fotofever, Photo Off, Photo Festival Saint Germain des Pres or Off Print and excellent photographic exhibitions. To all teachers and students who attended.
Besides the photography teacher Aureo de la Parra and Yolanda Pérez, Deputy Principal held a meeting with Lycée Suger, "Lycée des Métiers de l' Image et du Son" located in Saint Denis. During the visit, a trip was made to the center's facilities and a meeting with the principal and other teachers for it remained open to the possibility of sharing European projects.
On October 18th was reserved within the ExpoEnvíen / Expoprint Fair, organized by the IES Puerta Bonita and Salesians Atocha, to promote the training of future professionals.The symposium was attended by over 130 students from different schools of graphic arts of the Community of Madrid.
On November 12 demonstration/lecture "PRO Series video and cinema CANON EOS. Techniques and Workflow Specifications" took place. It was attended by groups 2nd Audiovisual Production and Shows and 2nd Lighting and Image Processing.
On Thursday November 14th one of our alumni entrepreneurs, Mario Llorente (Sound alumnus), conveyed his business model "Education in the air" and its evolution into a year of travel to students in 2nd Sound.
Students of First Graphic Design and Editorial Production morning shift came with their teachers to visit the graphic arts facilities of the Official Gazette on 4 November.

The space of the photography section of the Museum of the history of communication technologies has been reorganized and may be seen more comfortably individual parts, especially the collection of photographic equipment of photographer Jose Maria Gil Ruete.
On the other hand our museum has received the donation of a binding release of the 30s by the company Advantia and a model of a lithographic press donated by the Educational Museum of Graphic Arts Ángel Gallego, whose delivery made the Ángel Gallego own alma mater and museum founder GAEZ.
From 25 to 30 November 2013 Madrid Stock held. A film festival where features, such as shorts will be screened and will be held conferences and master classes.

Lycée Suger was founded in 1994 and is a comprehensive school that welcomes both general education and technical and vocational secondary education and the audiovisual sector in higher education.
Since 2010, it is "Lycée des Métiers de l’Imageet du Son" and offers students training in Picture, Sound, Production and Assembly. In 2011 a new building of 8,600 m2 was inaugurated solely to impart Audiovisual classes.
